Foodie Paradise! Cool Bangalore Locations Every Food Lover Should Consider Staying At

Repost:

If you were to start yourself on a food venture and try out a new restaurant each week, without ever having to return to the previous one, chances are an entire lifetime wouldn’t be enough to cover all the eateries in Bangalore.

Bangalore has been known by a lot of things: ‘city with a pleasant climate’, ‘start-up capital of India’, ‘garden city of India’ and many more. But in this never-ending rat race of name-calling and economic development, people have failed to recognize one of the city’s true characteristic: that Bangalore has always been a cultural haven and a foodie paradise.

Any cuisine you can think of, from any part of the world, there’s probably a place that can offer you a bite of it.

Here are a few locations you should consider finding a rental property in, so that you can successfully satiate the hunger-monster within you.

Basavanagudi

Located to the south of the city, Basavanagudi is the perfect place you’d want to stay at if you’re keen on residing at a place in Bangalore, which still looks like how it did before the IT boom happened. You can find houses that were built in the 70s where bell-bottom trousers and floral print shirts ruled the roster.

Coming to the food part, this area has a number of simple eateries that have been delighting people over the years. For starters, you will find‘VidyarthiBhavan’, a famous dosa place that has been in the running for over 70 years now, having served so many revolutionary writers, poets, politicians, and actors. Other places around here include Brahmin’s Cafe, where you can find people queuing up for a few idlis and a hot cup of the city’s famous ‘Filter Coffee’. You can also find VV Puram food street in close vicinity, which has a variety of Indian, continental, and experimental cuisine to offer.

Tidbit: Try the original taste of puliyogare (a tamarind-based rice dish) at Puliyogare Mane in NR Colony.

Koramangala

Very few places in Bangalore offer what Koramangala has to offer. The sheer number of restaurants and roadside eateries among others in this locality is astounding. Whether you want to experience the authentic taste of Tibetan cuisine (MomoHut!, Tibetan Mom’s Kitchen), authentic Rajasthani thali (Rajasthani Shri Shyam Thali, Taste of Rajasthan), or the all-American Pizza at California Pizza Kitchen, there’s just about everything you can ever think of.

So, next time you’re looking into an apartment for rent around here, make sure to loosen your belts and go full beast-mode with your eating.

Tidbit: While you are around, give the ice paan (available in the stall opposite Empire Restaurant, JNC Road) a try, it is going to chill your mind, literally.

Jayanagar

Jayanagar isn’t known as the single largest residential layout in Asia for nothing. This cosy suburb is the best of the old colonial and the new progressive Bangalore. Practically every street or crossroad you enter has a restaurant or a street food stall that is sure to tickle your senses.

Gorge on some delicious chicken biryanis at Meghana Foods or some authentic Italian pastas, raviolis and pizzas at Little Italy, or some sumptuous, filling all-you-can-eat buffets at Chutney Chang, or the unlimited Andhra meal at Nandhana Deluxe, all spread sporadically within the ramparts of the suburb.

Tidbit: Try the never-ending variety of sandwiches at Hari Super Sandwich (Jayanagar 4th Block, next to NMKRV college) and eat some amazing sandwiches you’d never even dreamed of.

These are possibly the three best location where you can lease flats to get started on your food journey. So, get your rental management company on the line and ask them to find a house in and around these areas.
